In 2024, he made a bold decision to run for Mayor of Siler City, with a vision to make the town’s leadership more representative of its diverse population. His campaign focused on racial justice, economic empowerment, and policy reforms to uplift marginalized communities. Despite facing over 100 homophobic and racist threats, Nick remained steadfast in his mission, refusing to be deterred by adversity. His resilience during this time only solidified his commitment to positive change and the need for a more inclusive, just society.
Nick’s work as a political candidate highlighted the importance of local activism and grassroots organizing. Though he did not win the mayoral race, the campaign became a powerful platform for raising awareness about the challenges faced by marginalized groups and the need for leaders who are truly invested in their communities.
